Summer 2016, Vol. 2 No.6
Sunshine and summer!

The kids are out of school, we're midway through Stampede here in Calgary and we recently welcomed a new cohort of grads to the alumni community summer has begun!

Like most people, I've always loved summer. Growing up, nearly every summer my parents would load up the truck, pack my brother and me in the backseat with pillows, blankets and games and we'd road trip from rural Manitoba across the prairies to visit my Aunt and Uncle's cabin in Tie Lake, BC
,
often with the RV and boat in tow. We'd eat Twizzlers, sip grape pop and watch movies on the TV with the built in VHS my dad had strapped between the driver and passenger seat to keep us quiet.

I still love road tripping and I spend the majority of my vacation time traveling around the country visiting friends and family over the summer months. When I'm not seeing the Canadian sites, I'm in the office working with the rest of the alumni team on all the exciting opportunities we have coming up for you. One event in particular I'm excited for is "A Royal Night featuring the Alumni Achievement Awards." This is the can't miss alumni event of the year! So, save the date and start calling your alumni friends and former classmates to tell them they have plans on October 5.
