Campus closed on Nov. 11 for fire bell testing

On Friday, Nov. 11 (Remembrance Day) all of the MRU campus will be closed for fire bell testing, except for Recreation which will be open reduced hours (from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.) and the Residences. Find more information on MyMRU Announcements.

TVP Christmas boughs available

Correction ― Instead of poinsettas, this year the Transitional Vocation Program is offering Christmas boughs. Orders will be taken until Nov. 24, delivery by Dec. 8. See poster.

Joseph Osuji, professor in the School of Nursing and Midwifery, has been selected for the Carnegie African Diaspora Fellowship Program (CADFP) through the Institute for International Education. This fellowship was created to help avert brain drain in Africa. See more.

Calgary Journal takes third place at ACP Awards

The Calgary Journal, created by Mount Royal University journalism program students, recently picked up a third-place design award in the "Newspaper Page/Spread" category from the Associated Collegiate Press (ACP).  See more.

Professor Brent Oliver principal investigator for CIHR ― HIV/AIDS Community Based Research Stream

Professor Brent Oliver (Department of Child Studies and Social Work) has been named principal investigator for a Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) ― HIV/AIDS Community Based Research Stream catalyst grant titled, "Gay Men and Other Men who Have Sex with Men in Alberta: Establishing a Community Based Research Agenda to Inform Provincial HIV Prevention Initiatives." See more.

Start of semester emails, with option for distribution list sign up

As each semester begins (Aug./Sept.) (Dec./Jan.), areas with ongoing employee activites can send an email to employees describing the semester's activities. Employees can then opt in to a distribution list, such as Google Groups, to get updates. Emails can be sent here.
