A time for community and celebration
Every year goes by so fast. It seems like January 2015 was only yesterday, and it's already December 1st. As 2015 draws to a close, I’ve started to reflect on the past year and see one constant through all that change: community. I’ve always felt that one of our greatest strengths at Mount Royal is our sense of community. I’m fortunate to see this every day in my work. Each Alumni Group is their own little community of people rallying around a common interest: building, empowering and supporting their community. And of course, this is the time of year when many of us make special time for our closest community — family and friends. However you celebrate the holidays, they’re the ones you choose to celebrate with. A community isn’t just a group of people who share something in common, they’re the ties that bind. As I spend time with my family this holiday season, I’ll be thinking of the triumphs and trials that made us a stronger community. There’s a lot to look forward to. Tell us what you have to celebrate this year. Email alumni@mtroyal.ca or tweet @MRUAlumni.

Welcome November Convocation grads to the alumni community
The celebration continues long after Convocation day! Whether you recently crossed the stage or it's been many years, we have a multitude of ways for alumni to get involved with Mount Royal. See our 20 ways to get involved page for a list of opportunities. A great initial way to stay connected to MRU is by joining an Alumni Group. You're involvement can range between being on the notification list for Chapter/Branch/SIG events and programs, to sitting on a leadership committee where you get to work with James, coordinator, Chapters& Branches to decide the Groups vision.
