Correction - last week we told you that Registration for EAD was open. Registration for the 36th Annual Employee Appreciation Day (EAD) officially opens on May 9, 2016. Employees can view all of the activities and plan their day at mru.ca/ead. EAD takes place on May 26. All MRU employees are invited to take part.

Faculty member selected for national awardRay DePaul, director, Institute for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, is one of six people selected as a finalist for the national BDC Mentorship Award, presented by Futurepreneur Canada. The recognition honours a Canadian business mentor credited by their mentees and peers for having provided valuable advice and support, and for contributing to the creation and growth of Canadian companies by building their mentees' professional skills. Winner will be announced at the end of May.
Tenure track public talksThe Department of General Education is interviewing five candidates for a tenure-track position. Interviews will be conducted on May 2, 10, 11, 19, and 25. Public talks on the question, “What is the value of liberal education?” will be open to all members of our MRU community. Each talk is between 2 and 3 p.m. in EA1055. Feedback will be invited. Holocaust SymposiumEvery year for the past 32 years, a group of courageous Holocaust survivors has had the inner strength to share their personal experiences with high school students at the Annual Holocaust Education Symposium. The event is organized by the Calgary Jewish Federation and Mount Royal University. This year's Symposium is scheduled on May 10, 11 and 12. Space is limited.
