Sat. Oct. 8 limited ventilation and hot water in main campus building

Due to heating system upgrades, on Sat. Oct. 8 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. there will be no ventilation for all areas of the main campus building except the U Wing (Recreation), the new B and Z Wings, and the Leacock and Wright Theatres. There will also not be domestic hot water available in these locations. For hot water in washrooms, use facilities in EA, EB or EC. In advance, contact Warren at 6417 or wfmcleod@mtroyal.ca. On the weekend, call 5900.


Requesting employee volunteers for Fall Convocation on Nov. 4

On Nov. 4 from 2 to 4 p.m., we invite you to help us celebrate this occasion. Volunteering is one way you can contribute to Convocation's success. Managers are encouraged to support staff who wish to volunteer. Sign up to greet students and guests, or usher guests to seating areas. Flu clinics to start next Friday (Oct. 21) and continue until Oct. 28th

Free seasonal flu shots for employees and students will be available on a first-come first-serve basis at Wellness Services (U216A) starting on Fri. Oct. 21 and going until Fri. Oct 28. The clinics will run from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily, including weekends. Please bring your provincial healthcare or Guard Me cards.


Get rid of your old stuff during Campus Sustainability Month

Gather up your old books (to go to United Way), electronics, batteries and cellphones (to be recycled), and halloween clothing and costumes (to swap with others) and bring them to Main Street from Tues. Oct. 25 to Thurs. Oct. 27 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily. Learn more about these and other activities

"Speed Dating for Sperm Donors"

In its Nova Scotia debut, "Speed Dating for Sperm Donors" by Natalie Meisner, PhD, began its East Coast run at the Neptune Theatre in Halifax to a sold out opening and standing ovation. The English, Languages, and Cultures professor's play has already been onstage in Calgary at Lunchbox Theatre and is based on her book "Double Pregnant: Two Lesbians Make A Family."

Start of semester emails, with option for distribution list sign up

As each semester begins (Aug./Sept.) (Dec./Jan.), areas with ongoing employee activites can send an email to employees describing the semester's activities. Employees can then opt in to a distribution list, such as Google Groups, to get updates. Emails can be sent here.
