Big Bike Challenge for Heart and Stroke Foundation

Fri. Sept. 2 at noon - Around campus and then BBQ at East Gate lawn

Road by Residence and soccer fields closed from Sept. 7 to 12
To increase safety and enhance the pedestrian experience for U Fest and New Student Orientation, cars will not be able to drive from West Residence and Recreation straight through to EC and the parkade. The road will be closed from Wed., Sept. 7 to Mon., Sept. 12. Cars can access the parkade, EC (the Roderick Mah Centre for Continuous Learning) and ED (the Taylor Centre for Performing Arts) by driving in a counter clockwise direction.

"Water Meter" art installation at East Gate in September
This temporary public artwork and social sculpture is a part of the Under Western Skies conference. Inspired by water meters used on some military bases in the Middle East, the art draws attention to water as a global necessity and a potential source of conflict. The work was done by University of Calgary professor and artist Dr. Dick Averns.

Start of semester emails, with option for distribution list sign up

As each semester begins (Aug./Sept.) (Dec./Jan.), areas with ongoing employee activites can send an email to employees describing the semester's activities. Employees can then opt in to a distribution list, such as Google Groups, to get updates. Emails can be sent here.
