Stress Busters! Taking place daily until April 22, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in Y210. End of semester starting to stress you out?! You're not alone. Take part in Stress Busters. Focus on your strengths, learn easy strategies for reducing anxiety, and practice techniques such as breathing, focus, relaxation and visualization. Open to everyone. Sessions will run for 10 minutes every half hour.
Sexual Exploitation Awareness Conference and Resource Fair — takes place April 25 and 26 in the Leacock Theatre. The Sexual Exploitation Awareness (SEA) Conference and Resource Fair, presented by 4th year Bachelor of Child Studies students is open to the public. Decolonizing Education with Marie Battiste takes place on May 5, 6 to 8 p.m. As part of the Suncor Aboriginal Education Pilot Program, the Bissett School of Business is pleased to welcome Marie Battiste, PhD, to MRU in Ross Glen Hall. Battiste will speak about her work Indigenizing the Academy, engaging with Indigenous pedagogies and fostering the learning spirit. Free event.RSVP Required.
Big Bob's BBQ 2016 takes place on May 19, 12 to 1:30 p.m. at the Charlton Pond/Gauthier Court (or Main Street if raining). This annual event is held in support of the Transitional Vocational Program (TVP) of MRU. It was started 34 years ago by employees Bob Charlton and Stu Gauthier to raise awareness and money for TVP. After Bob’s passing, the event was renamed in his honour. Tickets are $10 each, available soon at the Bookstore and the TVP offices (M200).
